Get the best possible translation result. (technical part)

Translating from language to another is always a challenge in any field, and it’s not limited to movies. News, health, sport... etc.

Even just two people talking to each other in same language May not deliver the exact meaning due to many reasons that we can’t discuss here.

Considering that it’s a nice idea to keep our expectations to this level when it comes to Translating a movie Subtitle script from language to another especially when a machine doing that for us.

However, this doesn’t mean we can’t get a better result.

Using some techniques might enhance the result.

- One sentence separated in two lines.

People writing script Subtitle for the movie, show or Even a YouTube Video sometimes want to split one sentence into separated lines to fit the screen size they are targeting or for a better looking or they just find an interesting sentence to increase the font size which makes the two lines.

For all these reasons we can only merge the two lines into one before that sentence going for the translation and doing so can lead to a better translation result.

Keeping in mind that if the original sentence has a full stop, comma, apostrophe, question mark or any character at the end of a single line indicate that this two lines have to be separated for a good reason they should left as they are.

- Invalid character between the words

Unnecessary characters among the words also lead to a different meaning in translation. Off course we can go throw line by line to check each and all of them! Sure that is going to work but it’s a time consuming process that most of us won’t do.

Instead a faster and easy to do is to predict those characters and set a list of them to be deleted or replaced by a program to do that in a less than a second.

By doing so, we are fixing the script before the translation process to get a better translation result.

- Choose the right subtitle if it’s available

It’s always better to translate from the original language of a content. Mean if you have an Indian movie it’s better to look for an Indian subtitle script to have a better translation result.
